Progression of gum disease

Gum disease is simple defined as the inflammation of the gums because of infection brought by plaque. As gum disease progresses, it will start to affect the bone that holds the teeth in place. If the infection reaches the jawbone, it can cause tooth loose. Gum disease has 3 stages before it gets worsen. The first stage is called gingivitis; this is the earliest for of gum disease mostly painless. The second stage is called periodontitis, at this point of infection, the bone and fibers that are holding your teeth in place is regrettably in irreversible condition. The final stage of gum disease is the advance periodontitis, at this point, that fiber and bone that holds your teeth in place is destroyed and if aggressive treatment can treat it, medical professional might have to remove your tooth.
